Travel Blog – New York City

Hi lovelies!

Today I am back with another travel blog! As most of you know I love to travel and I love capturing my experiences and sharing them with all of my readers! Kyle and I took a recent trip to New York City right before Christmas. Every year we like to do a Christmas getaway together and this year we picked NYC! It was a blast! ☺️

Times Square Shopping & Eating

Time’s Square in and of itself is so much fun! All the bright lights and hustle and bustle (especially around the holidays) sends a rush of adrenaline through you. There is also so much fun shopping to do! Hershey’s, M&M World, I ❤️ NYC gift shops, Christmas in New York, the Disney Store, essentially all major retailers, the list goes on and on! If you love to shop, New York is the place for you! I definitely got my fill. ☺️

In terms of what I wore on this trip, I knew I wanted to dress comfortable but also dress stylish! On the first day I wore this ribbed black turtleneck with black leggings and my gray / taupe booties. I’ve been really into wearing turtlenecks recently, I think they are so cute and fitting for this time of year! I also liked how sleek this look was. I put my hair back in a ponytail, popped in my hoop earrings, and threw on some berry lipstick and was ready to take on the city!

The second outfit is very similar but has a little more pop. I wore this perrywinkle turtleneck with black leggings and my cheetah print booties (which aren’t pictured unfortunately). I kept my hair down this day and popped in my cheetah print earrings to compliment the boots. I loved how the cheetah print looked with the perrywinkle color! So pretty! Both of these outfits were comfortable and kept me warm, but I still looked put together as well!

When it comes to eating, I have found several places that I will definitely be visiting next time I come back! The first one is Junior’s Bakery (which has two locations in Times Square). It has amazing soups, burgers, sandwiches, among other things. However, they are famous for their cheesecake! It is a MUST HAVE if you’re a cheesecake connoisseur like myself! Kyle and I tried three different flavors in our time there and loved them all. Another great breakfast spot was the Brooklyn Diner! If you are a breakfast fanatic, you will love this place! And lastly, perhaps one of my favorite places of all time, Ellen’s Stardust Diner! I went for the first time a couple years ago when I was in NYC with some girlfriends. I went back this time with Kyle and forgot how much I loved it! The wait staff is comprised of aspiring Broadway artists so they perform for you while you’re eating! It was an incredible experience, the food is great too!

Broadway Shows

On this trip I went to my first Broadway show and it was nothing short of AMAZING! We saw Disney’s Aladdin which was absolutely stunning in every way. I am a huge Disney fan which made it even more fun! I highly recommend seeing a Broadway show at least once in your life, there are so many amazing ones running all the time and the talent these people have is astounding!

Rockefeller Center

Another must see, especially if you ever go around Christmas time, is Rockefeller Center! The tree is one of the most magnificent things I have ever seen in my life. Kyle and I got engaged in front of this tree during this trip, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. ❤️ Of course there’s always the ice skating too, which even though I didn’t get the chance to do I’m sure it would be super fun!

Thank you so much for reading about our trip to NYC, we had a blast! Comment below what fun trips you have planned or have been on recently! I would love to hear. ❤️

I hope everyone is having a fantastic 2020 so far!

NYE Outfit Ideas

Hi lovelies!

I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. ❤️ Today I am back with another outfit idea blog! These blogs are always exciting because they are the basis of what I started this website for! Today I will be giving some New Years Eve party outfit ideas.

Outfit 1:

This outfit is close to my heart because I wore it on my 22nd birthday! I love the bold purple color paired with a pop of print from the leopard booties. These booties are the perfect pop of print because leopard is SO on trend lately! On my birthday I paired it with black lace panty hose which I think would be great for an NYE party. I also added a sparkly statement necklace to add that NYE glam aspect to this solid colored dress. This is great for parties that are a little more on the dressier side but still fun! I chose this dress because it’s a really light and flowy fabric but it still sits on the body well.

Outfit 2:

This outfit is one of my favorites! I love this black and white plaid shirt, it’s simple yet unique so people will notice you! The shirt senches in at the waist and then flows out which makes it extremely flattering on any body type. I paired it with leggings and black booties for a sleek look. I also added a pop of color with this Tiffany blue statement necklace to liven up the outfit some more! This is great for more casual get together’s that you want to look stylish for still.

Outfit 3:

This dress is such a great dress for a more sultry NYE party where people are dressed up! It has a deep V neckline so you can accessorize with jewelry or add some fun body glitter on your neck and chest! I love the mauve floral print, I think it’s a more mature floral print so it adds dimension to the dress without seeming like you’re at a summer picnic. I paired it with black booties again, but this would be great with black thigh high boots as well!

I hope you were able to grab some ideas from these outfits. ☺️ Whether you party is more casual or more sultry, I wanted to have ideas across the board so you could be stylish!

Have a happy New Year everyone! Here’s to 2020! 🎊

Christmas Q&A

Hi lovelies!

Today I thought it would be fun to do a Christmas themed Q&A since it is officially DECEMBER! ❤️🎄 Christmas holds such a special place in my heart, it’s my favorite holiday for so many reasons and the joy I have around Christmas is unexplainable. I hope you learn more about this Christmas connoisseur’s favorite Christmas things! Don’t worry – the next blog will be holiday party outfit ideas for all of my fashion followers! 🥰

1: Favorite Holiday Drinks / Food

My favorite holiday drinks are definitely good ole fashioned hot cocoa (with EXTRA marshmallows) or the Starbucks Chestnut Praline line. 😍 As for food, I love Christmas cookies! I’m definitely a cookie person over a cake person. 😊 I also really like peppermint ice cream!

2: Favorite Places to Christmas Shop

Depending on who I’m shopping for, the store will typically differ. However, my go-to’s are Amazon and Target! Amazon has everything pretty much and it delivers right to your door. Target is also very versatile, they have so much cute stuff! You can get some really great gifts in their dollar section for super inexpensive prices.

3: Favorite Christmas Scents

For Christmas, I really enjoy warm scents like apples and cinnamon. 😍 I really like B&BW Spiced Apple Toddy or Apple Cinnamon Cider. The cologne smelling scents are also a favorite of mine, B&BW’s Mahogany Teakwood is an overall favorite of mine of all time!

4: Preferred Christmas Decoration Themes

I LOVE this question! I like all of them. 😭 I think my favorites that I’ve seen are:

red / green / gold

maroon & gold

blue / white / silver

gold & rose gold 😍

5: Favorite Christmas Traditions

Every year since I was little my family and I have always sat together and watched at least 3 Christmas movies. Also, my boyfriend and I have made it a tradition to go see the Nutcracker with his family and go see the Zoo Christmas lights with my family! We also try to do a Christmas trip every year together as a couple. We’ve gone to Santa Claus, IN and Frankenmuth, MI and this year we’re going to NYC!

6: Favorite Christmas Movies

Another VERY important question! My favorites of all time are A Christmas Story and Christmas Vacation! Two classics if you ask me.

7: Favorite Christmas Songs

Anything by Michael Bublé, let’s be honest. I could die to his Christmas album and be content. I also love the classics like Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree, Let It Snow, and the Christmas Song.

8: Do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts?

Both! Obviously receiving presents is so fun, but I enjoy shopping for others and wrapping presents so much too! I love everything about the season of giving.

9: Where do you usually spend your Christmas Day?

As long as I can remember I have gone to my grandpa’s for Christmas on my dad’s side!

10: Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?

Of course I can! Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixon, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen, and Rudolph! I did NOT cheat.

Thank you so much for reading through this Q&A and learning about my favorite parts of Christmas. 😊 I hope you enjoyed! Like I said I will have a fashion blog up for my next post so you can be prepared for all of your Christmas parties!

Happy December!

Xoxoxo 🎄❤️

Fall Haul – Part 2

Hi lovelies!

I am back today with another installation of my fall haul series! 😍 This will be the last of my fall blogs unfortunately, but I’m so excited for Christmas content! 🥰🎄🎅🏻 I hope you enjoy!

Candles

I told you I had more candles coming! 😍 Ya’ll know I love my B&BW candles, I had to feature these ones that came in after my first fall haul! Caramel Pumpkin Swirl is a new one for me and I am obsessed so far! The other three are repeats for me that I burnt through and wanted to restock on! They are Caramel Apple (one of my favorite fall scents of all time), Pumpkin Pie, and Apple Cinnamon Cider (perfect for fall AND the holidays)!

Accessories

I am SO excited about my new shoe purchases! The fur lined loafer mules are SO trendy right now! They are a perfect way to look cozy and professional all at once – something that is extremely hard to achieve! It’s a great way to tone down a show that is typically very professional. I got them from Target for $25!

The cheetah print pointed flats were a MUST for me, cheetah is the new black this season! They are the perfect shoe to make a simple outfit pop with print, and pointed flats are never out of style! I got them from Meijer (yes, Meijer!) for $25!

The cheetah print rain boots are another way to spice up a simple outfit AND be prepared for the rain we’ve been getting! The short cut rain boot is also super trendy. I got them at Target for $20! Such a steal!

Last but not least can we talk about these wedges?! I got them from Amazon for $25 and I am OBSESSED! I know wedges are typically a shoe for warmer weather but the way these cover the foot is so flattering! If you live in a warmer area these would so perfect right now!

Clothes

Sherpa’s are a MUST this time of year! They are so trendy too! They’re the perfect cozy outfit to wear when you want to be bundled up but still want to be stylish. I loved the teddy bear brown color of this one against the black detailing. You can zip this one up for a more pullover look or unzip it to wear as a jacket! I got this one at Rue 21 for around $26.

I am so excited to share these dresses with you! I love this maroon t-shirt dress for this time of year. The material is so soft! The fact that it’s a solid color makes it so easy to dress up with a statement necklace or blanket scarf. I got it from Old Navy for only $12!

The second dress was SCREAMING my name on Amazon! How gorgeous is this deep, rich caramel color? I can’t get enough! I love the polka dots too, it makes the dress so girly and fun. It also has ruffles on the sleeve, chest area, and bottom trim. So modest and perfect for church, family gatherings (such as Thanksgiving), or the pumpkin patch!

Lastly – my new tops! I bought this striped pumpkin orange shirt because I think it’s the perfect layering shirt for this time of year! I love the color, and it’s simple but in season. It’s really cute with vests and blanket scarves! I bought it at Target for $12.

The two sweaters are my new go to’s! They have an oversized, comfy fit but are also cropped! You can also wear them slightly off the shoulder too. I wanted a neutral one and one with more of a bold color palette, I love the pinks with the orange and green! Such a unique comfort color combination. I bought them both at Rue 21 for a 2 for $25 deal!

I hope you were able to draw inspiration from my new pieces! I’m so excited to bring ya’ll some fun Christmas content! Happy November!

Fall Haul – Part 1

Hi lovelies!

I am SO excited for today’s blog because I will be doing the first part of my fall haul! This doesn’t include decorations since I featured those in my last blog, but it includes pretty much everything else! Candles, shoes, accessories, and of course clothes! 😊 Stay tuned for a part 2, I have a few more things on the way that I can’t wait to show you in November! 🧡🎃

Candles

Anyone who knows me knows I have a HUGE obsession with candles (especially Bath & Body Works) (and especially FALL SCENTS). I am always burning them and I cannot get enough! The top 4 are Target finds and so far I am loving the two I have burned! The scents from left to right are: Oats & Honey, Pumpkin Honeycomb, Apple Pumpkin Cider, and Caramel Latte. The 5 bottom candles are all from Bath & Body Works, I still have a lot of my fall candles from last year that I’m burning through so these are either new scents I want to try or favorites of mine that I burned through! The scents from the top left to the bottom right are: Maple Cinnamon Pancakes (new scent), Mahogany Apple (new scent), Pumpkin Apple (restock), Banana Cream Pie (new scent), and Sugared Snickerdoodle (new scent). I just ordered a few more restocks so stay tuned for that in part 2!

Accessories

‘Tis the season of blanket scarves! I found these two scarves in the Target Dollar Spot for only $7 a piece! Such a steal, plus LOOK at these colors! I don’t have any scarves with these color combinations so I had to pick them up. The red, white, and blue one matches a lot of pieces I have in my closet and the cream and orange one gives me all the apple/pumpkin/cinnamon vibes. 😍

I did pick a up a pair of earrings and a pair of shoes as well. You guys – I CANNOT get enough of these mustard earrings! This style earring is so trendy right now and the color is perfect to pair with fall outfits! I bought them at Express. The mules were screaming my name as a perfect warm weather to cool weather transition shoe! Ya’ll know I love my mules because these are so easy to slip on and off and you can wear them casually or dress them up. These light woven mules are perfect to pair with my fall dresses or skinny jeans and a sweater! Plus, they’ll go with so much! I bought them at Target.

Clothes

I LOVE tunics because they are comfortable but also so cute! This maroon tunic with dotted floral print is so perfect for the fall because of the mustard and navy tones on the maroon base. I love pairing tunics with leggings or skinny jeans as shown in this picture. I bought the jeans and the tunic both at Old Navy!

Is anyone else obsessed with fall dresses lately? I can’t get enough! This Target find is a perfect fall piece, mustard and navy is such a classic fall combination! I also love how the tie detail on the sleeves and the ruffles make this dress so girly and fun. I’ve been loving pairing this dress with brown wedges while the weather is still warm, but before long I’ll be wearing it with brown booties!

For a more casual fall dress approach, I picked up this gorgeous long sleeve t-shirt dress at Old Navy! Again with the mustard and navy tones, such a blissful combination. 😍 T-shirt dresses are so comfortable yet people will think you put in so much effort!

Last but not least, my new favorite sweater of all time. 😍 I am OBSESSED with this color combination! The purple and orange tones give me all the Halloween and trick or treat vibes. 👻💜🧡 It’s an oversized, high-low sweater that is frayed on the sleeves, neckline, and bottom trim. This gives it a casual look while also being so trendy.

Thank you so much for joining me in talking about all of my new fall goodies! Like I said, I will be doing a part 2 next month! I also have a fall giveaway coming shortly so keep your eyes peeled for that! I hope everyone is enjoying this fall weather!

Travel Blog – Nashville, TN

Hi lovelies!

Today I am back with ANOTHER travel blog for you – Nashville! I am a huge country music fan and I have always wanted to visit Nashville for as long as I can remember. We had a blast! I wanted to share some of my favorite things we did as well as the outfits that I wore over the weekend! ❤️

Museums & Landmarks

Nashville is filled with so much history! There is a variety of different museums and historical landmarks. We visited the Johnny Cash Museum, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and the home of President Andrew Jackson (my history buff boyfriend fell in love with this place). All of these places are a great way to immerse yourself into Nashville and learn about some of the amazing people who have left a mark on this city.

Downtown – Main Strip

There is a lot of action happening on the Main Strip in Nashville! There are a TON of shops, restaurants, and bars to stop in. We ate at the Florida Georgia Line restaurant and LOVED it! It was hot in Nashville this weekend, so I wanted to wear something light and comfortable. I decided to wear this romper – it’s light, one piece (easy to wear), and so adorable! Navy blue is a perfect summer to fall transition color and I love how the floral details make it pop. I paired it with my super comfortable black platform sandals – I can always trust these sandals for comfort and support while also being stylish!

Downtown – The Gulch

If you ever follow someone who’s been to Nashville, all of them have taken pictures at the Gulch! There are so many beautiful paintings and murals all around this district. Additionally, some of Nashville’s best breakfast spots are right here in this area! We went to Milk & Honey and absolutely loved it!

Tennessee State Capitol

The Tennessee State Capitol is right in the heart of downtown Nashville! It’s a BEAUTIFUL landmark filled with so much history – including the tombstone of President James Polk. This night I wore a different romper – I loved the antique esque pattern and all of the warm tones running throughout it. Such a beautiful summer to fall transition piece! I paired it with the same sandals as before. I’m seriously obsessed with these shoes!

Thank you so much for reading this travel guide about my experience in Music City! Nashville is an amazing place to visit and we had a blast spending Labor Day weekend there. Stay tuned for next weekend’s blog – I will be doing a fall haul! 🎃🧡🍂

Back to School Outfits – Summer to Fall Transition

Hi lovelies!

It’s officially back to school season! I moved into my new apartment last week and I am excited about the new school year ahead! With that being said, summer will be wrapping up before we know it and fall will be approaching. I wanted to show ya’ll some of my favorite outfits for summer to fall transition!

Outfit 1:

This outfit is the perfect example of comfy but cute! You can always switch the leggings out with skinny jeans for a more upbeat look, but I think the leggings pair well with the black tank top and this gorgeous lightweight cardigan! Also – can we walk about these colors?! They SCREAM fall! I paired them with these gold thick braided sandals, making it perfect for warm days that have a cool breeze.

Outfit 2:

This outfit is another great casual summer to fall option! This would be perfect for shopping dates or brunch with friends. The distressed high-waisted skinny jeans and the black tank top would look cute by itself, but I added this long floral kimono to add dimension to the look! I love the warm floral pattern against the deep blue – such a perfect summer to fall color palette! I paired it with these platformed black sandals, a HUGE trend this season!

Outfit 3:

Stretchy high waisted shorts are a MUST in everyone’s wardrobe. So comfy but so cute! I love the bow detail in the front too. I paired it with this gorgeous floral top – the top has a deep v-neck with ties across which adds another subtle detail. This floral pattern is stunning and will definitely help the outfit pop! I paired it with the same black sandals from before.

Outfit 4:

Dresses are a great option for back to school because it looks like you tried so hard but in reality you only threw on one piece! I love the unique muted green color of this dress with the Dalmatian print all over, another HUGE pattern trend! This dress is off the shoulder and has flared out sleeves that are the perfect bold statement. It’s senched at the top and flowy at the bottom making it so flattering on any body shape! I paired it with the same gold sandals as before, this green and gold look so good together!

Thank you so much for reading this far! I hope you found some inspiration for your back to school outfits or simply some good transition outfits from summer to fall! Happy end of summer – Bring on the pumpkin spice!

Reflecting – My Favorite Summer Outfits

Hi lovelies!

As summer is wounding up, I wanted to share some of my favorite summer outfits and provide the outfit details for them! I have been loving the summer trends this year and picked up so many cute pieces that I LOVED wearing and styling.

Jumpsuits have been a huge trend this season so I had to pick some up! The black floral jumper is a great option for lunch dates or shopping. The maroon striped jumper can be worn on casual occasions or could be dressed up and worn in a professional setting. These wedges are my go-to! I love the strap detail, I definitely think it makes the shoes stand out!

Jumpers: Rue 21

Wedges: The Shoe Dept.

Purse: TJ Maxx

You may recognize this picture from my Chicago travel blog. 😉 This skirt is my new favorite! It’s a high low skirt with ruffle trim on the bottom. I paired it with a navy blue top that has an open lace back. I love the open lace back because you can wear a pretty bralette underneath and add more dimension to the outfit.

Shirt: Old Navy

Skirt: Francesca’s Boutique

Earrings: Forever 21

I am a sucker for a cute, beach kimono in the summer time. This one is a perfect option for cruises or beach vacations. I paired it with a burnt orange cami and black high waisted shorts for a casual, day time outfit!

Kimono: Forever 21

Cami: Forever 21

Shorts: H&M

Nothing like a red dress! I love piece because of it’s eye-catching color but also it’s floral pattern and casual nature. It’s a great stand out piece that’s still casual and can be worn on many occasions. I paired it with navy strapped shoes to draw out the minor navy details in the dress.

Dress: Rue 21

Shoes: Amazon

Earrings: Forever 21

The palm leaf pattern trend is another trend I am here for this season! This dress is an off the shoulder dress with flared sleeves and a ruffled bottom. I love how airy and light it is, it’s perfect for casual strolls around the city!

Dress: Amazon

Shoes: Skechers

Some outfits you may recognize from other blogs and other outfits are brand new to the blogs, but I wanted to reflect on my favorite outfits from the summer season! I’m sad summer is almost over but I’m sooo excited for everything fall (my favorite season) 😍🍂🎃

Enjoy the last couple weeks of summer!

Xoxoxo 💛

Get to Know Me – Q&A

Hi lovelies!

It has been awhile since I’ve done any sort of Q&A on this website and it was a fashion-related Q&A. I thought it would be fun if I did a personal one for anyone who reads my blogs so they can get to know me a little more! I compiled some questions that loved ones thought would be fun for me to answer. Sorry for the lack of fashion, but check back in two weeks for an end of summer fashion blog. ❤️

Question 1: Favorite Netflix series?

If we’re talking ongoing Netflix series, I really love You, Dead to Me, Insatiable, and Slasher. For older series Gossip Girl, The Office, and of course my favorite show of ALL TIME Friends! 😊 I have watched Friends all the way through twice.

Question 2: Favorite season and holiday?

My favorite season is Fall and my favorite holiday is Christmas! I am a Christmas FANATIC, I love everything about it and always have – so magical!

Question 3: What did you want to be when you grow up when you were little? How about now?

When I was REALLY little I had aspirations of being a singer (which is horrifying to think about), a vet, and a teacher. As I got a little older I wanted to go into interior decorating, school counseling, or become a criminal psychologist. However, my senior year of high school I realized I wanted to go into PR and Communications to either work in event coordination, social media management, or fashion PR. I pursued this and never looked back. I am one year away from obtaining my bachelors in that degree. 😊

Question 3: Salty or sweet? Any favorite foods?

SALTY always. I have the occasional sweet tooth, but in general I don’t typically crave sweets. I am always craving salty things! As for favorite foods I love pizza and anything buffalo (buffalo chicken wings, buffalo chicken dip, buffalo chicken pizza, etc.). Mexican food and Italian food are my favorite types of food!

Question 4: Any pet peeves?

Being interrupted, being ignored, and when people get framed or blamed for things they didn’t do. If I’m watching a movie and a situation occurs where a character is wrongfully accused or blamed for something they didn’t do I literally cannot stand to watch it. 😂

Question 5: Do you workout regularly? What is your favorite form of exercise?

To be honest, I’ve never been one of those people who is super regimented with my diet or workout routine. I wish I was, but it’s never been an interest of mine. However, I do want to take care of my body so I try to go running twice a week. Sometimes I’m very bad at this and sometimes I’m very disciplined about it, but it’s consistently been my favorite thing to do and the most effective way to keep my body in shape.

Question 6: Favorite fast food restaurant, favorite fast casual restaurant, and favorite sit down restaurant?

Fast food: Taco Bell alllll day long

Fast casual: Chipotle or Gengi Go

Sit down: Buffalo Wild Wings, Tasi Cafe, or any Mexican restaurant

Question 7: What is your go to Taco Bell order?

I ALWAYS get 2 chili cheese burritos with extra cheese in both of them and a side of nacho cheese sauce for dipping. If I’m extra hungry I will add a side of fiesta potatoes or a chicken quesadilla. Always Baja Blast to drink!

Question 8: What is your go to Starbucks order?

I usually always get a trenta Strawberry Açaí Refresher with light water or a trenta Pink Drink. However, if I’m more in the mood for coffee I’ll get an iced white chocolate mocha or a blended iced latte with 3 pumps of vanilla. My favorite treats are the birthday cake pop and the chocolate croissant!

Question 9: What is your dream vacation?

I would love to go to Hawaii for a tropical vacation. However, I want to visit England and Italy one day as well. Shopping in London and eating pasta in Florence sounds like a dream to me.

Question 10: Favorite Bath and Body Works candle scent?

Depends on the season! For summer I love Tiki Beach, for spring I love Honeysuckle Bouquet, for fall I love Cider Lane, and for winter I love Cinnamon Frosting! 😍 All four of those are heavenly.

Question 11: Favorite genre of movie and favorite movies?

I have to say my all time favorite movies are scary movies – specifically slasher films. However, I love Rom Com and Romance as well. When it comes to specific movies, my favorite slasher film is The Strangers. I also love The Notebook, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Matilda!

Question 12: Does pineapple belong on pizza?

No

Question 13: How many kids do you want

3-5 😊 I’ve always wanted a big family!

Question 14: Favorite Disney princess? Runner up?

My favorite is Belle from Beauty and the Beast 💛

My runner up is Aurora from Sleeping Beauty 💗

Question 15: Favorite flower?

Pink, Purple, or Red tulips 🌷

Thank you so much for reading this Q&A and getting to know more about me! I hope you learned something fun. 😊 Can’t wait to get back into fashion in the next blog!

Xoxoxo 😘
